Northwest KanuFest - Methow Valley (I - III+)

About this event

Multiple days of great paddling in the sun filled Methow Valley.  Trips each day will vary depending on interest and the willingness of people to coordinate them. Possibilities include class I to III+ river sections.

Registering for this event does not obligate you to paddle every day, it just means you plan to attend some or all of it.

Appropriate bow and stern flotation is required for all kayaks and canoes.

Commonly run river sections are:
Methow River - Carlton to McFarland Creek: Class II
Methow River - McFarland Creek to Burma Rd: A splashy Class II+ with some big waves
Methow River - Black Canyon: A fun in the sun Class III+ with some challenging rapids
Twisp River -  A fun technical Class III
Methow River - Several sections of easier river paddling are available to paddle above the town of Carlton.

The Wednesday, July 2rd paddle will be class II+ and will meet at Methow River McFarland Boat launch at 11am to accommodate members traveling Wednesday morning.

One community dinner is being planned at the campground for Saturday July 5th, and there will likely be other shared dinners and dutch oven desserts.  Stay tuned for a link to the potluck organizer tool.

This is a car camping trip and camping will be at Loup Loup Campground off of Hwy 20, east of Twisp.  This is a delightful campground that offers respite from the heat of the valley.
