The tide schedule makes this the best weekend day of 2024 to run this interesting tidal stream in the Nisqually Delta region. Come join us for a trip through tide flats at the edge of Puget Sound, then meandering river, then inland tidal grasslands.

We will launch from the Nisqually Reach Boat Ramp and follow the west shore south. About 3 miles from the launch the creek will finally reveal itself and provide us with a tide-assisted journey inland. If no newly-downed trees block the way, we will paddle to the head of navigation, about 5 1/2 miles from the launch point.

Lunch will be in our boats as there are no landing spots on this tidal creek. By the time we finish lunch the tide should now be flowing back toward Puget Sound and give us a gentle push northward for the first 2 1/2 miles. We will have a gentle current in this portion of the creek with no rapids. Total trip distance about 11 miles. Bring lunch and a Discover Pass for the WDFW boat launch parking. Please be on time, we need to launch by 9:40 for best tidal assistance.

In the event of bad weather, we will run the trip the following day, Sunday Nov. 10, but meeting 1/2 hour later.
