About this event

The highway 599 bridge restoration will hopefully be finished in September and we can paddle again from Langus Park. We'll do a quick car shuttle then paddle upstream a mile and turn left into Steamboat Slough. We'll glide past South Spencer, North Spencer and Smith Islands on our left, and Ebey, Otter and North Ebey Islands to our right. We'll pass several marine habitat restoration sites as this area gets more and more back to nature. A fairly high low tide will allow us to paddle over the tideflats below Smith Island to Jetty Island and our landing point of 10th St. Boat Launch. Trip distance 10.5 mi, about half with a gentle tidal assist, half minimal current. Lunch will be in our canoes in this undeveloped tidal area with no good landing sites.
